The Michigan Womyn's Music Festival

For over 30 years this has been at the forefront of women's festivals. Held on 650 beautiful acres of remote Northern Michigan woodland. The ever-changing intergenerational tribe of womyn has come together to make music, art, performance and community in a swirling mix of personality, culture, age and experience. National Women's Music Festival, USA
Organised by Women in the Arts in July each year
The NWMF is held indoors on the campus of Illinois State University in Bloomington/Normal, IL. There are no rained-out concerts or workshops and no cold showers or “porta-janes.”
The Festival is a four-day musical and cultural extravaganza that incorporates all facets of women’s lives. It’s a jam-packed long weekend where choices for things to do range from workshops, concerts, comedy, theatre presentations, dances, a marketplace, newly released films and videos, a live auction, a fine arts exhibit, spirituality series, writer’s series, animal lovers series, celebrity golf scramble and much, much more!

Lezzie Camp is held near Wray in Lancashire, England, It is situated in a beautiful secluded, wooded valley, with a river running through it. It offers a great chance to meet and connect with dykes and kids from all over, and have fun.
Tents go in the woods, on the hill, or in the meadow. There is a barn and a couple of large tents to give some communal space if it rains and to use for kids play sessions, workshops, cabarets etc. Two weeks in late July/Early August each year. |

Women's Camp at Femo, Denmark
For more than 30 years women from all over the world have enjoyed their vacation on the lovely island of Femø in Denmark. The Women’s Camp on Femø is in many ways a unique blend of tradition and renewal. It is the oldest womens camp in the world -- the Women’s Movement in Denmark started the camp in 1971, and the International Week on Femø has been a part of it since 1973. Yet the many new women who join every year bring new ideas and initiatives to the camp.
The camp provides a space for diversity: It is for all women - heterosexuals and lesbians, from all over the world, of all ages - who wish to experience a society with other women. The camp lasts for eight weeks. Each week has an overall theme. Non-danish speaking women are welcome on three weeks: the body and soul week, the international week and the aftercamp. |
